In Hindu legend, sesame seeds symbolize immortality. In ancient Egypt and Persia, they were ground into flour for bread. In today’s Middle East, they are almost synonymous with the ground paste routinely mixed into hummus, baba ghanoush and halva.
For Eden Grinshpan, the host of Top Chef Canada and a popular social media entrepreneur, tahini is a staple that livens up everything from roasted cauliflower to eggplant schnitzel, strawberry rhubarb crumble to ice cream — and is healthy to boot!
Upon the publication of her second cookbook, Tahini Baby, Grinshpan joins us to share her playful approach to Middle Eastern and Mediterranean-inspired vegetarian dishes that count on tahini to liven up your cooking.
The author of the cookbook Eating Out Loud, Eden produced and hosted a culinary travel show for the Cooking Channel, ran a Nolita restaurant and has hosted Top Chef Canada since 2017. Eden Eats is both her social media brand and cooking channel.
Eden will be in conversation with Sarah Fennel, creator of Broma Bakery, a beloved baking site with over 2.5 million monthly hits and 3 million engaged followers across Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. Her debut cookbook, Sweet Tooth, was a bestseller on New York Times, USA Today and Amazon. She has been featured on The TODAY Show, Watch What Happens Live, The Drew Barrymore Show and Food52.
