Hebrew for the High Holidays – Get Ready!
Two Sessions – ONLINE
This course will help you feel more confident and connected during Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services. After a review of basic Hebrew reading skills, focusing on accuracy and fluency, we will explore five key prayers from the High Holiday liturgy, learning their meaning, pronunciation, and significance. Students will receive a curated vocabulary list of essential Hebrew words and phrases from these prayers, enabling you to follow along more easily in the machzor (holiday prayer book) and deepen your spiritual experience. This class is for those who can read Hebrew at a basic level.
Jerusalem native Michal Nachmany is a former faculty member at Hebrew Union College and teaches Hebrew across New York, both in classes and in private lessons.
