Taking On the NRA: Will Federal Gun Legislation Ever Pass?
Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg with Shannon Watts and John Feinblatt on the Fight to Keep America Safe from Gun Violence
School shootings. Nightclubs turned into nightmares. Houses of worship into warfare.
By 2006, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg was so incensed by the carnage that he organized a national mayoral campaign to reduce the epidemic of gun violence. Now, he has joined forces with Shannon Watts and John Feinblatt to take that effort to another level, leading a crusade to match the National Rifle Association dollar for dollar, lobbyist for lobbyist, citizen by citizen, until serious gun control legislation is enacted.
The Streicker Center is honored to welcome Ms. Watts and Mr. Feinblatt to discuss how Everytown for Gun Safety is taking on the NRA. Special introduction by Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg.
Moderated by Richard Salomon, Vice President of the Illinois Holocaust Museum‘s Board of Directors.
