Zibby Media Presents

Taking Women – and Women Writers – Seriously

With Jennifer Weiner

No one could accuse Jennifer Weiner of being shy . . . about the messy truths of women’s lives, about her own life, about her view of the publishing industry or her distaste for the phrase “chick lit.”

Perhaps that’s why her books have spent over five years on the New York Times bestseller list, with over 11 million copies in print in 36 countries.

In 23 novels and nine collections of short stories, she’s explored how women cope with philandering husbands (Fly Away Home), sibling conflict (In Her Shoes) and what to do when your mother comes roaring out of the closet (Good in Bed). Weight issues, addiction, female friendships, finding your place in a changing world . . . few of the dilemmas that women confront are absent from her storytelling.

Upon the publication of her highly anticipated new novel, The Griffin Sisters’ Greatest Hits, Weiner joins us to discuss her celebrated writing career, using social media to amplify women’s voices and the struggles of her latest female characters to chase dreams, survive the consequences and open the secrets that have confined them.

A former newspaper reporter and columnist, Jennifer is a frequent contributor to the New York Times opinion page. She’s active on Instagram, Facebook and Threads, and publishes “The Inevitable Substack,” a publication that covers reading, writing and whatever’s on her mind. Jennifer will be in conversation with Zibby Owens, author, podcaster, bookstore owner and CEO of Zibby Media.
