While we are proud of the overall lineup this semester and its promotion of progressive voices, we could have done better for this series, and we will do better going forward.

Live from Israel

Intimate Conversations with Ambassador
Ido Aharoni

After 25 years in the Israeli Foreign Service — negotiating with the Palestinians, advising the Minister of Foreign Affairs and serving at the helm of Israel’s largest diplomatic mission worldwide, New York —Ambassador Ido Aharoni knows almost everyone who is anyone.

Now, he’s invited five of Israel’s most fascinating people to chat about the future of the country. Hear candid dialogues with Israel’s movers and shakers — and add your questions to the mix.

Sponsored in loving memory of Caren and Amnon Barness.

David Blatt:

Us and Them? American Jews and Israel

David Blatt has an unlikely pedigree for a champion basketball player and coach: Raised in Boston, he studied English literature at Princeton and then made aliyah. But during his storied career, he played 12 years in the EuroLeague, coached 10 teams in seven different countries and was crowned coach of the year in Israel, Russia and the EuroLeague. He is the most decorated sportsman in Israel’s history with 16 national and continental championships and an Olympic medal, and he accomplished all of that before becoming head coach of the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers.

Check out how Blatt sees the future of the American Jewish–Israeli relationship.
