Dr. Eric Goldman:
The Jewish Women Who Broke the Hollywood Barriers
Women were largely excluded from directing and producing movies until late in the 20th century. However, since that time, a number of Jewish women have explored important Jewish themes in narrative films. This course will explore the work of six North American women, including Lee Grant, Elaine May, Joan Micklin Silver, and Barbra Streisand.

Author of The American Jewish Story through Cinema, Dr. Eric Goldman cohosted the Turner Classic Movies series The Projected Image: The Jewish Experience on Film. An adjunct professor of cinema at Yeshiva University, he is currently completing a book on Israeli film and cohosts Jewish Cinematheque on JBSTV.
